Ohio-born with an indie city vibe, Spence Reed is taking in all the creativity Nashville can offer. Listening to all genres growing up, Spence found himself somewhere between John Mayer and Eric Church. Encompassing an intoxicating blend of pop/rock with country and bluesy r&b, Spence Reed has found his niche in a melting pot of genres. These various influences on songwriting, sound and melody are easily discovered on the continuous releases from his Blackbird Sessions compilation.
Displaying his unique sound and verbiage immersed in production by David Huff (whose various credits include Kid Rock, Thomas Rhett, Taylor Swift and Midland), the Blackbird Sessions consists of raw tracks released monthly by the singer/songwriter. Thus far, two of the four tracks have been released.
Released on September 21, “I Want You To” was co-written with hit songwriter Kris Bergsnes and provides the perfect blend of country-pop production with intricate indie lyricism. The newest release, “Just A Memory,” fuses country stylistic songwriting with a foot-tapping indie-rock groove. Both tracks are available to stream and purchase on all music outlets.
